The 2023 Apple Block Zinfandel shows classic Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel character. The aromas are fruit forward with notes of rasberry, Santa Rosa plum, and warm brown baking spice. On the palate the fruit impression continues with ripe berry and touches of vanilla and spice. The finish shows supple tannins and a long finish.
Always the most intense of our block wines, the 2022 Olive Block holds true to that tradition. While showing classic Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel black cherry fruit, it delivers a nuanced claret-like impression as well. Deep, rich berry fruit aromas intertwine with notes of all-spice and a hint of olive and white mushroom. The richness continues in the mouth, lush fruit pairs seamlessly with supple tannins and hints of toasty oak.
